Nifty

My friend Lizzie and I came across these smack in the middle of a shopping centre. It took us quite a while to figure out what they were. Any ideas?

    at first i thought Subway vents. (do they have subways there? doesn't seem so) // then i noticed the icons on the side: Trashcans. Nifty indeed. very artsy.
